Quoting software for laser cutting job shops

AllTerra Calculator is a quoting loop for metal job shops. Receive a DXF, nest it, cost it with your rates and send a PDF quote. This is the live flow at calc.1cterra.ru, with no invented win rates or unnamed customer stories.

From customer DXF to PDF quote

A quote stays inside one company account. Your settings and materials belong to you, and other companies cannot see them. The loop is short, so estimators stay in the browser and do not rebuild numbers in a spreadsheet.

  1. Upload the customer DXF (closed contours required).
  2. Confirm material, thickness, quantities and nesting parameters.
  3. Run nesting. Check the sheets, sheet utilisation, cut length and pierces.
  4. Run costing with the Business plan or Hourly rate model from your shop profile.
  5. Set the quote price (it cannot go below cost), add the layout if you want, then download the PDF.

Reprinting a PDF or changing the quote price does not use an extra nesting calculation under the plan rules. A new nest does. So customer revisions stay cheap when only the price changes.

What the PDF quote contains

PDF quotes can be made in Russian, English or German. A quote contains:

You can add the nesting layout to the quote, so the customer sees the packing next to the price. This is optional per order. It uses the same nest you approved in the preview.

Margin, VAT, and discount limits

Business plan adds your margin percent after the cost lines. Hourly rate prices from material and billable hours. Margin follows that model. The calculator does not add a second markup on top of an all-in rate.

VAT is optional for each company. When it is on, VAT is added on top of the price without VAT. The default VAT percent is 20. When VAT is off, no tax line is added to the total.

You can lower the quote price, but not below cost. When VAT is already in the price, not below cost plus VAT. There is no separate maximum discount percentage. The hard limit is cost. Only admin or owner users of the company can change the quote price.

Roles and who sees cost

Company users are either admin or owner. Both work inside the same company. Results show full cost detail to an authorised user of that company. Other companies cannot read your costing.

There is no role that sees the customer price but hides internal cost. Anyone who can open an order result for your company sees the full breakdown. Admin and owner can also manage users.

Order history

Company history lists past calculations, so estimators can reopen a job without hunting for files on a desktop. Columns show the date, client, material, sheets, utilisation, cost or price, and the PDF link when there is one.

Trial and tariffs

New companies get a trial: 14 days or 10 completed nesting calculations, whichever comes first. Paid plans on the live service are Start, Workshop and Production. Each has a monthly calculation limit and a user limit: Start 30 calcs / 1 user, Workshop 300 / 5, Production unlimited. When you hit the limit, new nesting is blocked until you change plan or add a pack. Opening the cost preview or reprinting a quote stays free under the plan rules.

Quoting sits on top of nesting and costing, so keep your cutting modes and material catalogue up to date. A neat PDF built on last year's pierce times will still misprice the job. The service does not refresh your rates from outside sources. Your company settings are the source of truth.

When several estimators work in one company, shared history and settings cut down spreadsheet drift. Admin and owner roles cover user management and quote-price edits. Day-to-day quoting uses the same cost result for both roles. Money on the live service is in RUB. The calculator interface is in Russian, English and German.

Before your first live quote, run this checklist. Confirm the cutting modes for the thickness on the order. Confirm the VAT and margin settings match how you invoice. Nest once and read sheet utilisation and cut length aloud. Then download the PDF and check that the per-part lines and the total match the screen. If anything differs, fix the settings. Do not paper over the gap in the PDF.

This page publishes no customer names, win rates or speed claims. The only numbers it gives are the plan limits and the price floor. For machine-time formulas see How pricing works. For DXF contour rules see DXF nesting.
